Senior leader in an interview
Executive interview coaching

Senior roles are won in the room.

At your level, the panel already believes you can do the job. What they're testing is judgement, presence and risk. Our interview programme prepares you for every stage, from the search firm screen to the board, so you walk in as the obvious choice.

Why executive interviews are different

Competence gets you shortlisted. It doesn't get you hired.

By the final stage, every candidate can do the job. Panels are deciding who they trust with the organisation, and most senior leaders haven't been interviewed seriously in years.

I

They're assessing judgement, not answers

Strategy, trade-offs, how you lead through ambiguity. Rehearsed competency answers sound junior at this level.

II

Every stage has a different audience

A search consultant, a CEO, a panel and a board are each listening for something different. One prepared pitch won't land with all of them.

III

The hard questions decide it

Why you're leaving, the gap, the restructure, the project that didn't go to plan. How you handle these is often what separates the final two.

The programme

Five stages, built around the role you're going for.

Every session is one-to-one with your Executive Transition Coach by video, and built around the specific role and organisation in front of you.

Stage I

Role intelligence

We break down the role, the organisation and the people interviewing you: what they need, what worries them about the appointment, and where your experience answers it. You leave with a clear position for this specific role.

Stage II

Your story

We build your leadership narrative and a bank of signature achievements, each told as concise evidence with numbers. That includes the answers every panel asks first: tell us about yourself, why this role, and why now.

Stage III

The hard questions

We prepare you for the questions you'd rather not be asked, and the strategic ones that test how you think: your first 90 days, the restructure, the failure, the gap. Honest, confident and brief.

Stage IV

Rehearsal

Mock interviews in the format you'll face, whether that's a search firm screen, a one-to-one with the CEO or a full panel. Detailed feedback after every round, on content, presence and how you come across.

Stage V

The final stage and the offer

Board and final-round preparation, presentations and case studies, references, and how to negotiate as the preferred candidate once the offer arrives.

Every format covered

Ready for whoever is on the other side of the table.

Stage one

Search firm screening

The conversation that decides whether you're presented to the client at all.

One to one

CEO and hiring executive

Chemistry, judgement and whether they'd trust you with their agenda.

Panel

Panel interviews

Reading the room, answering each panel member's real concern, and staying consistent.

Governance

Board interviews

For C-suite, non-executive and board appointments, where strategy and governance take centre stage.

Final round

Presentations and case studies

Structuring a 90-day plan or strategic case so it shows how you'd lead, not just what you know.

Internal

Internal promotions

When the people interviewing you already know you, and you need them to see you at the next level.

Questions

Before you book.

When should I start?

As soon as you're shortlisted, or before you go to market if you haven't interviewed in a while. If your interview is close, tell us the date and we'll arrange an intensive around it wherever we can.

Won't I sound rehearsed?

No. We don't write scripts. We build your stories and evidence so you can answer naturally, in your own words, whatever the question.

How are sessions run?

All sessions run by video, so you can prepare from your office or home, wherever you are in Australia. It's also how many first-round and search firm interviews now take place, so you rehearse in the same setting.

Can you help once the offer arrives?

Yes. The final stage of the programme covers references, the offer and how to negotiate as the preferred candidate.

Is it confidential?

Completely. Nothing about your search or the roles you're interviewing for is shared with anyone.
